Job Title: Exploration Geologist

  • -Provide technical supervision of exploration activities in the field as well as the office.
  • -Carry out and oversee technical functions (mapping, drill hole logging, etc).
  • -Integrate and interpret geologic mapping, geophysical, geochemical and RC and core drilling data.
  • -Assist with geologic modeling updates, and provide support to resource and mine geologists.
  • -Assist in preparing budget requests and negotiation contracts for exploration as needed.
  • -Prepares business cases regarding individual projects and initiatives and presents results and recommendations.
  • -Ensure exploration data is well documented for accuracy and quality in a timely and efficient manner.
  • -Assist other departments with tasks that involve geologic issues.
  • -Keep current on new developments in geology and other fields that might improve efficiency in developing, handling and interpreting geologic data.
  • -Establish and maintain a professional relationship with various academic staff, federal and state geologists, independent consultants and geologists and industry peers.
  • -Possesses a positive attitude at all times and good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • -Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
  • -Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
  • -Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
  • -Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Qualification, Skills and Competence

Minimum Qualification

BSc/HND in Geology or related discipline. At least 10 to 15 years of mining experience covering exploration to production activities of producing mining field. NI 43-101 or JORC code complaint reporting (Competent Persons Reporting). Specialist skill required as follows -/ Rock crushers, pulverizes, shatter cells, handheld XRF Preferred, XRF, XRD, EDXRF, QEMSCAN Preferred, Microsoft Office Suite, Petrographic microscope, Field mapping
