Japaul was incorporated in 1994 and started business operation in Port-Harcourt city with N40,000.00 Capital base in a one-room office. The company started as a maritime Broker and supplies all manner of Material to Companies.
The Company bought its first Marine craft in the year 2009 which is called Japaul-I a barge of 300 tons. As at 2010, Japaul have in excess of 55 river marine craft in her fleet and 16 no/ sea-going vessels.
The Company became a listed Company on the Nigeria Stock Exchange in 2005, having a capital base in excess of N23Billion as at December 2010.
JOMS has many subsidiaries in diversified business ventures with Staff strength of 1000 as at December, 2010.
The head office of Japaul Group is located at Plot 8, Dr. Nurudeen Olowopopo Avenue, Central Business District (CBD), Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Management Team
Mr. Jegede A. Paul - Group Managing Director/ CEO
He is presently leading the Management team of the company in the capacity of Group Managing Director (GMD). He holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Ilorin and an MBA from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt, River State,
Nigeria.He is also a Fellow member of Nigeria Institute of Shipping. He worked with various reputable organizations before Incorporated Japaul and joined the Board of the company in 1997 as the Managing Director.
Paul Jegede has been presented with various awards and the latest of them is the award of for one of the 50 Men ofIntegrity in Nigeria.
Capt. Sunil Chaudhary - Executive Director (Marine & Offshore)
He has 25yrs experience in Marine, Oil & Gas Industry.He has performed diverse management roles in shipping, business development, finance, HR and project management. He had Master (F.6) – LBS College of Advanced Maritime Studies and Research, He also a Professional Membership of Member Nautical Institute (UK) and Member International Tug & Salvage.
Olugbenga Shittu - General Manager, Offshore
He is presently the General Manager, Offshore. He joined Japaul Limited in 1997 as a Field Officer and rose to the position of the Supply and Procurement Manager of the Company. He was the Logistics Manager of the Company, Senior Manager (Offshore) before attaining the present position. BSc, DCSP
